Sophos Home will block you from installing pcTattletale. You can click a button to exclude it. But if you missed that part when the screen came up just follow along.
In this short article I will show you how to exclude pcTattletale from Sophos Home so they work great together.
How To Exclude
It is 4 easy steps
- Turn off Sophos Realtime protection
- Put pcTattleatle on the computer
- Exclude pcTattletale from Sophos Scans
- Turn Sophos Realtime Protection back on
1. Turn off Sophos Realtime protection
Just open Sophos Home Protection and click on the Settings link.
It will take you to a website where you need to turn it off like this:
2. Put pcTattleatle on the computer
The next step is to download pcTattletale. Do this step even if you already did it. It is likely pcTattletale was already deleted by Sophos.
Just sign into your pcTattletale account and put it on the computer.
Pick add a device and Windows. Then get your special download link:
After you get your download link you can download and install with just one click:
3. Exclude pcTattletale from Sophos Scans
Now that we have pcTatteletale running on the computer let us make sure Sophos leaves it alone. From the settings screen on their website scroll down and find exclusions.
Copy and Paste Exclusion:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\scheduler\
Press Enter When Done to Save!
4. Turn Sophos Realtime Protection back on
The last step is to jut turn Sophos protection back on. Make sure you see that pcTattletale is excluded. After you do this both apps will work great together.
