How To Access The PC Tattletale Control Panel:

Once you have successfully installed PC Tattletale, you will see a window asking you for your email address.

By entering your email address, PC Tattletale will forward all emails, Instant Messages, and chat room conversations to you at a remote location.

This is perfect for parents who wish to monitor their children while they're at work. You may changes this option at a later time, if you do not want to use this feature.

Once you've entered your email address the next thing you will see PC Tattletale's configuration screen and by default monitoring of all of computer activity is turned on.

You may adjust these settings at any time, however we recommend that you leave the default settings in place for a few days so you can get the "big picture" of your child's actions.

By pressing "OK" you'll come to the main PC Tattletale control panel. From here you can see everything that PC Tattle records. To see what has been recorded, simply click on the button / link describing that activity.

Once you close the control panel, PC Tattletale will disappear and go into "Stealth Mode". The following describes how to get back into the control panel to see what has been recorded.

Because PC Tattletale runs completely hidden it can be hard to find.

Unlike other programs you can not find it anywhere on your computer. There are no icons to start it. PC Tattletale is password protected. To open the control panel you will need to press a special key sequence. When you do this a log-in window will appear.

To view what has been recorded, simply click on the button or link in the control panel that describes that activity.

Because PC Tattletale operates in a completely hidden fashion, it can be hard to find. Unlike other programs you can not find it anywhere on your computer. There are no icons to start it.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you close the control panel, PC Tattletale will disappear and go into "Stealth Mode" automatically.

The instructions below describe how to get back into the control panel again to see what has been recorded.

Additionally, PC Tattletale is password protected. To open the control panel follow the steps below.

NOTE: If you have Windows Visa - Go to the ROUND Start button, then click the SEARCH command. They type "pctt", then continue with the instructions below.

How To Launch The Hidden PC Tattletale Control Panel

1) Access the control panel by clicking Start/ Run

When you do a log-in window like the one below will appear.

2) Next, type in "pctt" without the quotes

Click "OK" and ANOTHER widow appears like the one below.

3) Next, enter your password. The default password is "pctattletale".

Click the "OK" button

To change your password, click the Change Password button and enter a new password. Please enter it in all lowercase letters with no spaces.

Note: if you try to login and cannot or you forget your password, just reinstall PC Tattletale and the password will be reset to the default of "pctattletale".

4) Now click on the icon of the activity that you want to view.

Step 2 - Please pay particular attention to the three buttons at the bottom of the control panel screen. They are:

"Options" - click this button to set the various options to your personal preferences. By options are enabled by default, however PC Tattletale allows you as much or as little customization as you'd like.

"Beginner" - Clicking this button DISABLES the programs STEALTH MODE and makes PC Tattletale completely VISIBLE TO ANYONE using the computer it's install on.

It will ALSO ADD start icons to your desktop, and start menu. DO NOT click this button if you wish to keep your monitoring activities undetected.

(Note: You may REACTIVATE STEALTH and REMOVE all start icons by clicking on the beginner button again - it will say Advanced)

"Stop/Start" - This button activates or deactivates the PC Tattletale surveillance.

By default PC Tattletale is active and is the recommend setting .However there are times when you may wish to deactivate surveillance(for example on the family computer and you are using it and don't need to monitor your own activity.)

(Note: You must click the START button again or the PC Tattletale will not capture any activity the next time you turn on your child's PC.)

Lastly, after you've printed these instructions, make sure that you DELETE this file from your desktop if you don't want your children to find it.
