Resolving Interernet Security Software Issues:
Honestly that really depends. Some anti-spyware programs and or security programs may detect it, but most do not.
But with an estimated eight out of 10 computer users having harmful spyware secretly installed on their computers, the market for anti-spyware software expected to grow by over $2.6 billion in the next five years.
The financial incentive for anti-spyware software manufacturers promises to be very very competitive, and extremely lucrative for the winners.
So as anti-spyware software manufacturers become more aggressive in listing different types of software in order to have "the largest & most comprehensive database," all Parental control and Internet monitoring programs regardless of manufacturer will at some point probably be listed.
However, we have spoken with many of the top anti-spyware manufacturers and many have granted us an exclusion from their databases because we are geared towards protecting children, rather than invading spousal or employee privacy.
Additionally, as new anti-spyware programs come to the market we are very proactive about requesting exclusion from their databases. Here is an actual copy of the letter that we send.
Unfortunately, some anti-spyware and/or anti virus manufacturers may be more interested in their corporate profits then helping you protect your children; so what can you do to ensure that PC Tattletale goes undetected on your child's computer?
-
The first step is to determine what spyware detector and or anti virus software is installed on your child's PC.
-
Next, with PC Tattletale running in the background, go ahead and do a scan with the spyware detector or anti virus software installed on that machine.
-
IF PC Tattletale is detected, the anti-spyware/anti virus product should give you the opportunity to "EXCLUDE" PC Tattletale software from future scans, meaning that the next time your child runs their anti-spyware/anti virus software PC Tattletale should be ignored by that software.
-
Should your child's anti-spyware/anti virus software detect PC Tattletale and allow you to mark it for exclusion from future scans -- make sure that you exclude PC Tattletale from BOTH "real-time" and "background" alerts and scans.
If you're not sure how to do this, it's well worth your time to take a few minutes and check the help file of the anti spam/anti virus software.
