AT&T Adds Covert Tracking To Family Phones

by Parental Control Products on April 16, 2009

AT&T GPS Cell Phone TrackingAT&T just launched a new service called FamilyMap. In a nutshell, itlet’s you locate any number on your AT&T account for a flat monthly fee.

Here’s why it’s perfect for parents: besides the first notification text message alerting that subscriber they are being tracked, all other monitoring completely invisible.

For example after signing up we were able to track both an iPhone 3G and a BlackBerry Bold phone completely without any visible indication that the phone was being tracked. There were no notifying text messages, no voicemails, nothing.

What’s even cooler is that this AT&T tracking service isn’t just using cell tower for cell phone location triangulation, it actually can activate the the phones internal GPS chip. Which means, where ever your child goes, if she has a her phone with her, you’ll know exactly – within about 3 feet, where she is at all times.

Perfect for those times when your teenager claims “she’s going to a girlfriends house to spend the night” but you thing otherwise.

You can signup for the service now for $9.99 for two phones and $14.95 for 5 phones with 30 days free.

That’s pretty cheap in our book for the piece of mind this service can bring to the parents of teenagers.
