How to Remove Norton Software

by Parental Control Products

When you buy a new computer, it often includes a trial version of a security software suite.

Due to their size and influence in the market and the awesome payout that they pay PC manufactures to install their demo software on your new PC, there’s a good chance that some version of the Symantec’s Norton suite is running on your PC.

Norton software is notoriously unfriendly to parental control software (unless they make it… ) and unfortunately, Norton is rarely easy to remove. And as a result, many users feel it’s one of the most annoying internet security software suites.

Often users will want to remove or uninstall Symantec’s Norton software due to several issues like wanting to use a different anti-virus software, Norton has slowed their machine down, but the built uninstaller that comes with Norton, rarely seems to work the way you’d expect. Often parts of the sofware are still left on your machine after you do the uninstall.

The Norton Removal Tool will help. Just run it after you use the software’s built-in uninstall program. Download it here:  service1.symantec.com

You can also use the above tool after a failed attempt at installing Symantec software. But rather then trying to reinstall Norton we suggest trying another antivirus internet security suite.

Several good suggestions for an alterntive to  Symantec’s Norton line of internet security or anti-virus software are listed on our internet sercurity software page.

Just you need to uninstall it, or remove it from the windows admin.

One of the best ways is to uninstall it all. But why you want to do that? You have new version of the program, or you will change it?

You want to remove it because Norton interferes with parental control software. Parents need to put their child’s safety first. There are way to many other AV programs out there to be held hostage by Norton.
