Sex contact with child draws a 17 year sentence:
Daniel A. Jamison, 35, of the 8000 block of Oak Way Drive Inn Hotel in Missouri was sentenced Monday to 17 years in prison for having sexual contact with a secure old girl in 2000.
Jamison pleaded guilty on September 8-1 count of statutory sodomy. This was a plea bargain agreement as other Similar charges were dropped in exchange for Jamison agreeing to plead guilty.
Jamieson must serve 14 years and five months before he is eligible for parole.
Now our take on the situation is that admitted pedophiles clearly are sick individuals and a danger now and in the future to children. Regardless of the noise made by rehabilitation advocates, statistics show that 98% of pedophiles will abuse this child again if given the opportunity.
While certainly as a society we want to provide treatment for these sick and twisted individuals, once a pedophile is convicted of child rape and admits the crime or is caught in the act and sentenced to prison, they should never be released.
Statistics show that these individuals can not be rehabilitated and almost always will re-offend within the first five years of the release.
Particularly when pedophiles abuse children under the age of 15, as in the case here where the victim was only six, these people should be locked up and the key thrown away.
