Creating a "Redirection" Page For Your Affiliate URL:
This is one of our all-time FAVORITE techniques!
Did you ever notice that often times people are leery of clicking on an affiliate URL just because they know someone is trying to *SELL* them something.
Well, here's a great way to get them to click on your link anyway.
Here's how it works: Instead of using your affiliate URL you can create a simple "redirect"' page and post it on your web site.
The URL of your NEW redirect page is the one you'd promote, rather then your actual affiliate link.
Benefits of Using Affiliate Link Redirection Include:
-
Being able to promote a shorter URL
-
Hiding the fact that your link is an affiliate link
-
Having more control over the visitor actions
In a nutshell, the concept is very simple: When the visitor click on that NEW link, these redirection scripts will automatically cloak and take them to your affiliate link!
This technique works very well and also makes it easier for you to promote your affiliate link if doing any ezine or newsletter advertising.
Note: Be sure to change the XXXX to YOUR affiliate ID number before you post the new page to your site.
The HTML Redirect:
This HTML code simply redirects your web site visitor to an any alternate URL you specify.
Be sure to REPLACE the URL in the example above with YOUR affiliate URL before you post this new page to your site.
For example: http://www.pctattletale.com/scripts/cbprotect.php?id=XXXXX

The PHP Redirect:
Using a simple PHP script for URL redirection is clean, simple and easy to create.
Important: You MUST remember to save your new web page with a .php extension and NOT a .htm or .html extension like most regular web pages.
If you do not use a .php extension, the PHP redirect below will not work.
Be sure to REPLACE the URL in the example above with YOUR affiliate URL before you post this new page to your site.
For example: http://www.pctattletale.com/scripts/cbprotect.php?id=XXXXX

The Frame Redirect:
Using a frame redirect allows you to completely disguise your affiliate link. In other words, your link is completely invisible.
Your visitor will only see your URL in the address bar of their web browser, regardless of what site you are promoting. Using a frame redirect makes it appear as if they've never left your web site.
Be sure to REPLACE the URL in the example above with YOUR affiliate URL before you post this new page to your site.
For example: http://www.pctattletale.com/scripts/cbprotect.php?id=XXXXX

The iFrame Redirect:
The code for an iFrame redirects works in much the same fashion as the frame redirect. However, several older version of Internet Explorer are not be able to draw iframe windows.
While it's not a big deal as most people are using updated versions of IE or Firefox, or Safari, but it's something to keep in mind when deciding which types of redirect you want to use.
